You show up,
But then you don’t show up.
You tried to make it all go away
But it still sticks like a scar
You tried to be a new you
But who cares
You lead a new you not regarding any of it all
Still, who cares!

I am tired of being me
Or should I say,
“The Me” you want me to be
I tried to succumb but seen as a “fool”
I tried to wisen up but was termed “cunning”
Tried to play by the rules but “too gullible”
Tried to think outside the box but “too know”
Seeing as I can’t please anyone anymore,
I have to think of myself
Even for once!
At least, for a change.

I’m a new me and “I don’t care”
You are too proud. “Say what!!!”
You should try and do right by others, “who you epp”
Your methods are too rigid, “like I care”
Why do you insist on doing you? “Hmm…”
You should try to listen to people, “where has that gotten me?”
So you are just going to ignore us? “You bet I will”
Who’s going to want to spend the rest of their life with you like this? “Whoever is ready to cope with my crazy”
You are way too full of yourself. “Smiles”

Now, I’m here!
Living me!
No more shenanigans
I still hear you,
I do because I’m not deaf,
Just won’t let it get to me.
I’m being as positive as I can be
Fun as can be
Weird if it has to come to that
And a little bit of crazy!
